Portfolio

I'm trying to perfect my English portfolio, but looking at what I have at the moment, I'm feeling really good!! ;] I put some work into it, especially on the final Zine!! I enjoyed making it, so no complaints! From the last time I checked, I had a B+ in the class. I really hope this final portfolio pushes me up to that A!!!! ^__^

Finals...

Finals are coming up real soon, and I'm already stressing out. I only have two tests, one on the twelfth and the eighteenth. I'll do fine on my math test, but my chemistry test is what I'm worried about. It's my first test, so I will be taking it on the twelfth unfortunately. I still need to complete some homework and a few quizzes before hand, and I still have to perfect my portfolio. It's time for me to study ;] I'll be getting all them A's.

November 29th was the day that we had my grandmother's funeral. It was a rainy and gloomy day, and I waited with my family as we lingered around for the guests to arrive. I couldn't face the fact that I was already at my grandmother's funeral. It was like a nightmare you'd never want to face, but it was reality... it was real. I love my grandmother so much, and I cannot explain how much I look up to her. That day was a terrible day for me. But, I realized something positive. All my family was here, together in unison. We have always had problems within the family, but seeing us all together gave me a good reason to look up to my grandmother and smile.

Rose Parade

So the rose parade is coming up really soon! I'm really excited for it, especially since I'll be in it! ;)
I will be marching in the rose parade, so watch out for me! We're practicing a lot, walking miles just for practice. But, when the day comes, it will be an amazing experience! =D

My Dearest Friend

Not too long ago, my grandmother passed away. She was one of the only people that I really looked up to and kept my close memories with. My loved my grandmother so much, and I still cannot believe that she's gone. My grandmother has been sick for quite a while, around six months or so, and she has been in the hospital for a long time. She accidentally fell and developed an infection in her hip. It worsened over time and began damaging her body. She had then had a stroke, kidney failure, and many other problems that she had developed. I felt horrible for my grandmother, especially the hard times that she had faced. I am relieved for her that she has passed, because she has been suffering under life support for the longest time. I could not bare seeing her laid out on the bed. Its best that she rests in peace now. I love you Marian. Time will come, and I will see you.

On Dat Adventure!! ;]

Being on the track team, I have the benefit to keep a close relationship to my teammates. I really enjoy spending time with them and I really want them to know who I am, as well as a part of my background.  Some of my teammates live outside of California, so I really wanted to show them my hometown and the places around it. I took my friend Taylor, from New Jersey; Tevin, from NorCal; and Emma, from Finland. I found a weekend for which I could borrow my parents car for the weekend. The weekend I had the car, I took my friends several places. I first took them to a Bagel place in Beverly Hills, following a tour of the city. After seeing much of the rich and luxuries, We took a visit to the beach. We walked across the Santa Monica Pier and had a relaxing gaze out to the sea. After awhile, we became extremely Hungry, so we took of all the way to Old Town Pasadena. We sat in a common dinner, Johnny Rockets, and had a delicious meal. We then walked around for a bit and then took a visit at my very home by which we took a good two hour nap. It became late by then and had to head back, but we had such an amazing time. I wont forget this day, but it will come again soon. Another adventure will await! ;]

An Amazing Birthday

This past weekend was a fantastic weekend. My parents came over to my dorms for a visit, and after we went to go watch the women's volleyball game! Unfortunately the girls came to a close defeat, but it was a great came to watch anyways. After the game, I went back home to my family and friends! I spent the first day with my family, and spent the second day on a crazy adventure with my friends back home. It was amazing! I came back home Sunday night to get ready for practice on Veterans day. It was tough, but a good practice. I relaxed the rest of the day playing video games and went out to dinner with my family for my birthday. My birthday was the day after, but it was a great time to eat with the family again!

Halo 4

Now, I used to be a huge gamer when I was younger. It all began when I bough an xbox and Halo 3. At that point, I had no life. I would stay at home and play hours and hours of video games. It was amazing, especially when I played with friends. Coming into my high school years, especially my senior year, I didn't have much of the time to play video games. I was busy with school work, college apps, and track.
Now, Halo 4 is coming out. I am psyched about this game and can't wait to purchase it. It comes out Nov. 6, and have a pre- purchase on it. Once this game comes into this household, my life is done (once again).

Goodbye Pal

Going through my day of Halloween, I was ready to go out and enjoy myself. I either wanted to go trick-or-treating or kick back at a party. After I finished all my classes and worked my way through track practice, I began texting my friends to see what they wanted to do. During that time, my brother texted me. Now my brother usually doen't text me unless its important, so I opened up his message to see what it was he needed. He texted me, "Hiroshi died!" I though he was pulling a prank, it being halloween. I texted back, "No he didn't," and he replied with "Mommy called me and told me." I still couldn't believe what he was telling me. My good dog, only 7 years, dying?
I called my mom to tell her about this "prank" my brother was trying to pull, but to what I couldn't believe, Hiroshi did die. This was devastating to me, and it tore me apart. I've been with Hiroshi since he was a pup, and now he's taken away from my life like that.
I spent the rest of the day to myself. Thats all I needed for Halloween, was time for myself.

What I am for Halloween =]

The other day, I went out with my room-mate to go halloween costume shopping. It was very difficult to choose a good costume and I wanted to look fun and creative. I only had thirty dollars at the time, which made it even more difficult to find a costume( Costumes averaging around $60). Anyways, I made the final decision on being a cave dweller! It looks like a leopard skin cloak with a fur sash. The costume is going to be much fun, and people will hopefully find it funny especially with my bone club!

Halloween Horror Nights

The other day, my friend Diego came down from Santa Cruz. I haven't seen him for awhile, but seeing him was a joy of mine. When he came down, we went to Universal Studios to the annual Universal Horror Nights. Universal Horror Nights obviously takes place during the night and holds several mazes and scares. I am easily scared, and Horror Nights was a place I would crap my pants. There were zombies everywhere, demons walking around, and clowns chasing people around with chainsaws. The mazes had scares in every corner and you were for sure going to jump in every maze. I had a great time with my friend and cant wait to see him again. Next year during halloween, meet up with some friends and take a trip down to Universal Studios!

Bus Driver Uppercuts the Hell out of a woman

So today I saw one of the craziest video's ever. I watched it several times due to the intensity! This video is a video recording of a bus driver who uppercuts the hell out of a woman. One thing to say, I do believe the woman deserved it. I do believe that men shouldn't beat up on women, but what this woman is doing crosses the line...

Some Scary Fun ^_^

The time that I have free from school and sports, I love to play video games with my friends. One thing that I enjoy to do is find scary games to play. May be weird, but its funny to see your friends get the shit scared out of them! I recently began looking for scary games ever since the "Slender" game became popular. This game is based on the mythical creature, the "Slender Man," Who is a tall figure with a blank white face wearing a suit. In this "Slender" game, the slender man chases you as you try to collect eight pages. Here are a few games you should download and play:

What is a Decathlete?!

Since I was in 8th grade, I've been competing in the decathlon. Most of you may think of the decathlon as the "Academic Decathlon," but Im not really that strong academically. What I really do is run... alot. The Decathlon is a track event that consist of ten events back to back. The event takes place in two days, competing in five events those two day. These are the following events I have to do in order to complete the Decathlon:

100 meter run: This event is a quick and fast race. It is only 100 meters long, but you have to be fast and strong so that you can finish well in the race.

Long Jump: This event is in the name. You need to jump as far as you can. This event consist of good technique and understanding. The person that jumps the furthest takes the first place.

Shot-put: This event requires the use of a 16 pound ball. With strength and power, you need to throw the ball as far as you can.

High Jump: Just as the name says, you need to jump as high as you can. The higher you jump, the better you do.

400 meter run: This event is 400 meters long. The event can be easy, but it requires a lot of strength and endurance.

110 High Hurdles: This is a 110 meter run with ten barriers that block the lane. In order to do well in this event, you have to have strong technique and a strong body.

Discus: This event requires the use of a weighted disk. With great technique and understanding, you need to throw the disc as far as you can.

Pole- vault: This event requires the best technique. Many people are afraid of this event because it requires the use of using a pole to fling yourself over a bar.

Javelin: The javelin is a long spear that you have to try to throw as far as you can.

1500 meter run: This event is the toughest event in my opinion. It is a race that is 100 meters less than a mile. It requires great endurance and a strong mentality.

ElectroHead

Many people dont know the kind of music I listen to, but that's why Im here. I love all sorts of music, as long as it sounds good. I can enjoy listening to some soft classical to some banging house music. As long as I can feel myself in the music, I'll enjoy it.
The only crap music I dont really like much is rap and modern hip hop. Im sorry, but most of it is terrible. I do enjoy listening to the beat and the rhythm of rap and hip hop, but the lyrics? The lyrics send horrible messages... Smoke weed every day, drink till you pass out (or go to the hospital), and have sex with every "bitch" you can lay fingers on. That's why Im not that great of a fan. I understand if you enjoy the beat, but if you're in for the messages, check up with yourself.
Im more of an "Electrohead," like some people would call me. I love electronic music because it has such a rhythm to it, a great beat! And electronic music ranges to several categories. Dubstep, house, techno, electro, trance, drum & bass, glitchhop, drumstep, etc. These different categories has a different feel to it, and depending how I feel, I'll listen to a certain song.
Music expresses emotions and feelings, and that's exactly what I do when I listen to electronic. If ever I feel down, Ill listen to Trance. Trance has a soft beat to it that's relaxing and soothing. A song like this would be "Rebound" by Arty & Mat Zo. If every Im excited, mad, or need to release energy, Ill listen to some dubstep or glitchhop. This music has a harder beat to it and sounds much more obnoxious. A song like this would be "Apex" by Foreign Beggars. And if im happy and upbeat, ill listen to some techno and house music. This music is faster tempo and more "happy." A song for this would be something like "Shrunken Heads" by Wolfgang Gartner.
Music depends on the person who is listening and feeling the music. Music is an art and a way of life. Whatever music you like to listen to, enjoy! As long as you connect and feel it! =]

This is a small playlist of some electronic music. Some of you may not like it, but some of you will enjoy it =]

> Doomsday- Nero
> Strobe- Deadmau5
> Silhouettes (Vocal Mix)- Avicii
> Rolling Stones T-Shirt- Dada Life
> Rebound- Arty & Mat Zo
> Apex ft. Knife Party- Foreign Beggars

Who I Am

I have had several experiences in my life that I hold valuable to my heart. These experiences are my memories and my passions that I will always carry with me in life. I have been gifted with several talents, and I thank God for everything he has offered to me. I was blessed to have an ear for music, learning to play the piano at the age of four and enriching my musical talent till today.

At the young age of 10, I also had the passion to run. It may not sound desirable to many, but I love the competition I face out on the field. Not only do I compete against many talented runners, but I make friends every competition I participated in. I have continued to carry out my talent in track and field and have made it to high levels of competition in high school. I have worked extremely hard and practiced countless hours to achieve my dreams as a high school runner. My plan was to make it to the state level of competition.  I did not reach my ultimate goal in my high school track career, unfortunately, but I felt really proud with my achievements and my success. Now I am here as a Decathlete runner for the CSUN track team, and I am ready to represent the Matador Pride!

Track isn't everything. I was gifted with a brain, just like you. We all should be thankful for where we are today! Learning from our past and working hard through our present goals, we can make the future a place we have always dreamed. Look at your talents, your gifts, and your life and thank God for every new day you live.
